Much has changed over the past couple of years for Jake. He's been able to fit into a lifestyle he finds more to his liking, thanks to a friend in the FBI he can turn to when something that needs correcting develops. Of course the obligation works two ways, and occasionally Jake finds himself in a position where he needs to help out in return.
Now married to Karin, with a young daughter, he lives in California where his wife's work has taken them. The last few months had been ideal, with no major incidents, his daughter passing the first year milestone, and his best friend Nate getting married. It was too good to last.
The first unexpected event was an attempted kidnapping of his wife and daughter. Then it was an attempt on the life of his friend Zack. The note that arrived with demands were unlike anything Jake had ever encountered.
Someone knew about him! They knew what he could do, and demanded he use his ability to help them. The request involved something Jake had never attempted before, and he wasn't certain it was even possible. The motivation for the request was actually reasonable, but the means of forcing his hand were not. Something had to be done to remove the threats.
At first Jake had assumed that he could resolve the matter as easily as he had other matters, but as he becomes more involved, it is clear that the man behind the extortion has used his knowledge of what Jake can do to hide himself very effectively.
Jake back-tracks farther than he's ever done before in an attempt to locate the man behind his troubles. Just when he thinks he has the matter well in hand, something happens that shows he's been wrong the entire time about what is involved. Suddenly, the problem of protecting his family and friends becomes much more difficult, and the demand being made of him takes on a far darker nature.
The people who know about him and the organization they represent present a dilemma far more difficult than he'd imagined. Just trying to find them will put his life at risk, assuming he can do so at all.

We return to the protagonist's happy life, who discovers that his secret is discovered and is blackmailed to undo an event. Will he be able to get to the bottom of this or will he be forced to agree to the demands that may also erase his young daughter from existence?As always, Bob Blink's storytelling is amazing, with many twists along the way that let the story develop without losing focus. I understand how tricky it might have been for him to come up with a story about a person with so strong power, especially as it had developed quite a lot towards the end half of the Corrector. But he did it and we get rewarded with a great story!

This, the second of Bob Blinks books is as exiting as the first. When I turned my off,I couldn't wait to turn it back on to read this. I found is very very interesting. This was a time travel book of sorts. It was awesome. My kind of book.
Mr Blink creates an engaging story built around an invented human talent he defines with limitations and consequences. His main character is believable and the story line flows smoothly and is consistently entertaining. Where conflicts between characters of other faiths, ethnicities or national origins arise they are dealt with (good or bad) as product of the character's own choice not as an inherent factors from their faith, ethnicity or national origin. A good but not light read thoroughly enjoyable!!
Amazingly entry (# 2 behind the corrector) to a SUPERB SERIES !! A must read series if you like suspense/thrillers, and time travel!!
Cool ideas, nice thinking on the potential impact of this power. This book was too long for the story it was telling and could have used more editing. However the plot was complex and reasonably well thought out. I will reluctantly read the third book.
Thought provoking, as time travel stories often are, with ethical questions thrown in for good measure. If you could do what Jake can do, what would you try to accomplish?
Intricately threaded time travel story, pitting a lone traveler against a powerful organization who knows of his capability and of course can't match it, but for a while very effectively anticipates it and cuts him off.
Blink uses one of my favorite themes, that I used in a story once. The time traveler progresses backward, so that his friends and allies forget all that has happened each time he shows up.
Well written good story built on the solid character(s) from the first book. I did not find it as good as the first book but well worth the price and time to read. For many who read the reviews there were no grammar errors that I saw and the writing was well edited. If another book would be written I would purchase. Of course any book written by Bob Blink will get a look and likely bought. A good author who has written well in every book I have read Solid quality for a purchase if interested in one of his many book topics / genre.
